What We Stand For

Circle Preparatory School is committed to providing quality, inclusive and developmentally appropriate education in accordance with the South African Schools Act (Act 84 of 1996), the National Curriculum Statement (CAPS), and all applicable regulations of the Provincial Department of Education.

The school endeavours to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment that promotes holistic development across academic, physical, social, emotional, moral and cultural domains.

 

Through learner-centred, inquiry-based and progressively technology-enhanced teaching practices, the school seeks to:

  • Promote participation in sport and physical education as a means of building resilience, discipline, teamwork and self-confidence.

Our History

Circle Preparatory school was founded in 1981 by the Stanger Women’s Circle. A group of visionary, Community minded woman who recognised the growing need for accessible and high-quality early childhood education in the Stanger community. Their shared goal was to create, Nurturing environment where young children could learn, Grow, And develop strong foundations for the future.

The initiative began a circle preschool operating from the Stanger Siva Temple Hall. As enrolment increased and the demand for quality Pre Primary education crew, The school relocated to the Stanger & District Child & Family Welfare Society Premises. During this period, The woman’s circle expanded the program to include a formal nursery school, further strengthening the schools early learning offerings.

Recognising the importance of structured early childhood development the school was later placed under the wing of the Stanger & District Child & Family Welfare Society, officially becoming circle Pre Primary school. This transition provided greatest ability governance and the alignment with a broad mission of community upliftment and Child Welfare.

For more than four decades circle Pre Primary school has remained committed to the holistic child centred education for children age 2 to 5 years building on the strong foundation and legacy of service. The school is now transitioning into circle preparatory school expanding its educational pathway to include primary education while remaining rooted in its values and community focused vision.

At Circle Preparatory School, we are proud to be part of a rich history and long-standing relationship with the KwaDukuza community spanning more than four decades. Since joining the Circle family in 2018, it has been an honour to contribute to our school’s continued growth and journey.

At the heart of our philosophy is the belief in balancing traditional educational values with modern innovation. While technology has transformed the world, it has also created challenges affecting learners’ social skills, mental well-being, and academic development. At Circle, we focus on nurturing critical thinking, creativity, resilience, and adaptability to prepare learners for an ever-changing world.

We are committed to developing the whole child by fostering confidence, self-esteem, and emotional security from a young age. Through strong partnerships with parents and the wider community, we guide learners to discover their strengths, reach their potential, and grow into compassionate, capable future leaders.
